Angela's PaperArts: Whimsical Woodland Masked Christmas Card

I wanted to highlight how cute the Stampin' Up! Whimsical Woodland 3D embossing folder is on these cards.

Angela's PaperArts: Stampin' Up! Whimsical Woodland 3D embossing folder mask technique Christmas card

I used a masking technique to create the coloured centre piece to highlight the embossing on both of these cards.  For the card on the left, I used metallic gilding polish from my stash for a bright finish.  For the card on the right, I used a Stampin' Up! blending brush to blend three inks for a softer look.

Which do you prefer?

Here's the brighter version with a metallic gilding polish centre.Angela's PaperArts: Stampin' Up! Whimsical Woodland 3D embossing folder mask technique Christmas card

Here's the ink blended version with three different Stampin' Up! ink colours.

Angela's PaperArts: Stampin' Up! Delicate Bauble & embossing paste masked Christmas card

I've started making some Christmas cards and keeping with my mask theme this month, I've used one of the Stampin' Up! Adorning Designs Decorative masks and embossing paste to create this Christmas card.

It also features one of the dies from the Delicate Bauble die set and a diecut border in silver foil from the Basic Borders die set too.

Tip: If your embossing paste has started to harden, just add a little bit of water as needed and stir to soften again.

Angela's PaperArts: Stampin' Up! Artistically Inked mask card

I've been doing more masking and ink blending again using a diecut as my mask and featuring the Artistically Inked stamp set & co-ordinating dies bundle.

I used the beautiful floral spray diecut from the Artistic dies set which is part of the Artisically Inked bundle used on this card as my mask and added ink using my Stampin' Up! Blending Brushes.

After adding ink

Once I removed the mask I was left with the negative image which I turned into a birthday card.  I could have left the mask on the card, but I'll share with you next time how I used it to create another card - I basically got two cards out of the one technique using both the positive and negative images.

Tip:  So if you don't have the right plastic mask, use one of your dies instead to create what you need. The products used are currently available and can be purchased from my online store if you live in Australia.

Angela's PaperArts: Happy World Cardmaking Day - Stampin Up Angels of Peace bauble

Happy World Card Making Day.  Are you crafting today?

I enjoy ink blending and using masks so thought I'd feature a card using these techniques today.  Here's the finished card.

Angela's PaperArts: Stampin Up Angels of Peace, Delicate Bauble and Poinsettia dies and ink blending Christmas card

I used one of the Stampin' Up! Delicate Bauble dies as a mask, my Stampin' Up! inks & Blending Brushes to create the bauble background.

The holly and poinsettia are from the Poinsetta Dies set and the stamped images are from the Angels of Peace stamp set.

Masculine happy birthday card

This week's card features the masking and sponging techniques.  It also features the Stampin' Up! Banner Punch and co-ordinating Banner Banter stamp set which is discounted by 15% until 17 April 2015 when buying these items as a bundle.

To create this card I used sticky notes to mask off a section of the Very Vanilla cardstock.  I then used a quarter section of the Stampin' Up! sponge to apply the Crumb Cake ink.  Once I was happy with the sponged coverage, I removed the sticky notes and stamped the train from the Traveler stamp set.  I stamped some banners using the co-ordinating ink and cardstock then punched them out with the Banner punch.  I layered the sentiment and banners together and attached them to the card using foam dimensionals.

If you'd like to learn this or other papercrafting techniques, please contact me as workshops and papercrafting classes are available.  The key products used on this card have been listed below - just click on the picture and it will take you to my online store where the product can be purchased.

Happy Father's Day 2014

It's Father's Day this weekend and I've been busily making cards for two of the special men in my life, my dad and husband.

Here's one of the cards.

I used a torn mask technique inspired by a card made by my friend and fellow SU demonstrator Kathryn Ruddick a few months ago to feature on this card.  Layers of stamps, inks, a charm from my stash plus some natural linen thread for texture were added to complete the card.

With the exception of the charm, retired Sense of Time and Itty Bitty Background stamps, all items used on this card are listed below. Click on the picture to view and order any item online 24/7.  Don't forget that you can receive the Good Greetings stamp set for free up until 31 October 2014 when placing an order or having a workshop worth $300 (excluding postage).  You also get the usual hostess benefits on top of this too - double the freebies!

Don't want to order online - not a problem.  Just send me a message and I'd be happy to place the order for you and where possible, will help save you postage costs if you do live locally. Don't forget to check the Clearance section of my store too for even more bargains.  If you have any questions, please leave a comment or contact me privately - happy to assist anytime.  Papercrafting classes are available.
