For the Newlyweds card

More weddings are in the air and this card features the Stampin' Up! Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper.

I used the gorgeous Shimmery White cardstock for this special occasions card and layered the base of the card with the Something Borrowed DSP and Sahara Sand cardstock.  I used the Dotted Scallop punch to create the borders and added some white tulle from my personal stash to give it a 'wedding' feel.  The sentiment comes from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set.  I added a few Rhinestones for a dash of bling to complete the card.

Happy Mother's Day card

Mother's Day is only a few weeks away and I made this diamond fold card for my Mum.

The diamond fold card requires a 12"/30.5cm piece of cardstock for the base.  I made the fold and decorated the sides with the beautiful Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper, Crushed Curry 1/8" taffeta ribbon and used the Finishing Touches edgelits to add the decorative edge using Whisper White cardstock.  I then stamped the sentiment using the Crazy For You stamp set.  I added some leaves punched from the Bird Builder punch and flower punched and stamped using the Petite Petals stamp set to finish off the card.

I made a second card for my mother-in-law and used the Scallop Edge Border punch for a decorative edge on this card.  Which one do you prefer?

Masculine happy birthday card

This week's card features the masking and sponging techniques.  It also features the Stampin' Up! Banner Punch and co-ordinating Banner Banter stamp set which is discounted by 15% until 17 April 2015 when buying these items as a bundle.

To create this card I used sticky notes to mask off a section of the Very Vanilla cardstock.  I then used a quarter section of the Stampin' Up! sponge to apply the Crumb Cake ink.  Once I was happy with the sponged coverage, I removed the sticky notes and stamped the train from the Traveler stamp set.  I stamped some banners using the co-ordinating ink and cardstock then punched them out with the Banner punch.  I layered the sentiment and banners together and attached them to the card using foam dimensionals.

Daydream retirement card

One of my work colleagues retired this week and I made this classical style card for her.

I used one of my favourite colour combinations being Rose Red, Basic Black and Silver/Smoky Slate for this card.  I embossed a layer of Rose Red cardstock with the Beautifully Baroque textured impressions embossing folder to add some texture to the card base.  I also used a favourite Stampin' Up! stamp set, Daydream medallions to create the centre focal point of this card with the always versatile Teeny Tiny Sentiments for the 'Happy Retirement' sentiment.  A touch of silver glimmer paper and a couple of rhinestones gives it a little lift too.
