Angela's PaperArts: Happy Mother's Day

It's Mother's Day here in Australia and I'd like to wish all Mums a very Happy Mother's Day and especially to my own wonderful Mum.

I made this Twin Peaks card for my Mum.

Here's a side and overhead view of this card.

I used Stampin' Up!'s White Willow cardstock for the base & sentiment label along with Uniquely Creative's Whispers of Wisdom collection to create the card. The "Mum" die I've had in my stash for a long time and have always loved its font. You can find the tutorial by Iced Images on YouTube for creating this style of card.

Angela's PaperArts: Double Pop Out Gatefold Mother's Day card

It's Mother's Day here in Australia.

I made this Double Pop Out Gatefold card for my Mum. It features the Stampin' Up! Frames & Flowers Specialty paper.

Here's the card closed with a belly band around it to keep it together.

Here's the card open and I've left two small inside panels blank to write my message. I don't know about you, but my Mum has always been there for me and helped me when I needed it my whole life. I'm truly grateful to have such a wonderful Mum, hence the "thank you for everything" message inside the card.

Here's an overhead view of the card.

The current Stampin' Up! products used on this project can be purchased from my online store if you live in Australia. I also used dies from Snazzi Scrappin to cut & assemble this card base quickly & easily instead of having to manually cut out the design.

Angela's PaperArts: Thoughtful Journey Mother's Day card

I'm getting ready for Mother's Day here in Australia.

I love the new Stampin' Up! Thoughtful Journey suite and used it to create this Mother's Day card for my Mum.

Angela's PaperArts: Stampin' Up! Thoughtful Journey Mother's Day card

I didn't want to waste an inch of this pretty paper, so I cut out the middle and layered it up on dimensionals.

Angela's PaperArts: Stampin' Up! Thoughtful Journey Mother's Day card

Am I the only one thinking the florals in this suite look like Scottish thistles?

Inside the card I stamped the 'thistle' stamp using the direct to stamp technique. I coloured the stamp using my Stampin' Write markers instead of the inkpads so I could add two colours onto the stamp at the one time.

Angela's PaperArts: Something fancy Happy Mother's Day gatefold card

I'm getting ready for Mother's Day this Sunday and made this gatefold card for my Mum.

Angela's PaperArts: Stampin Up Something Fancy gatefold mother's day card

It features the Stampin' Up! Something Fancy stamp set & co-ordinating dies, Elegant Border dies and Dry Brushed Metallic paper.  The leafy gold wreath was diecut from one of the Natural Prints dies.

Here's the inside of the gatefold card where I used one of the Elegant Border dies for added interest.

Angela's PaperArts: Floating Gap Mother's Day Card

In one of my recent posts I shared how to make a Split Panel Card.  This card is an extension of that concept where the card base is split in two pieces and a focal element is used in the middle to join the card together.  I made this card for my Mum for Mother's Day later this week

Angela's PaperArts: Floating gap mother's day card with Stampin Up Encircled in Beauty dies

I had only seen cards using imperial measurements in either landscape or portrait style for this card, so I designed my own square version using metric measurements.

My card is a 14 x 14cm square card and features the sadly retiring Stampin' Up! Encircled in Beauty dies as the focal element.  The sentiment is from the Celebrating You stamp set and it has three of the little Brushed Brass Butterflies as embellishment underneath it. Thanks go to Iced Images for the inspiration for this card style. For the centre focal image you don't have to use a diecut, you can use any shape e.g. circles, squares, rectangles, diamonds etc., but I did like the look of this pretty diecut for this card.

Here's a side view of the card.

This card is quick and easy to make and can be made for any occasion.

Angela's PaperArts: Crane of fortune mother's day card

I'm again this week featuring the Stampin' Up! Crane of Fortune stamp set and co-ordinating dies bundle along with the Symbols of Fortune Designer Series Paper.

Angela's PaperArts: Stampin Up Crane of Fortune bundle and Symbols of Fortune mother's day card

Instead of using the foiled side of the paper, I thought I'd use the reverse side for a different look.  I kept it simple and used the colour scheme in the paper for my stamped focal image being Calypso Coral and Evening Evergreen inks.  The elegant Happy Mother's Day sentiment is from the Celebrating You stamp set. How cute is that little Brushed Butterfly embellishment.

The products used on this project can be purchased from my online store if you live in Australia.

Lacy Petals Mother's Day Card

It's Mother's Day here in Australia and I'd like to wish all the Mums a very Happy Mother's Day.

I used the Stampin' Up! Lacy Petals dies and Dressed to Impress stamp set to create this card for my own Mum.

Here's a close up of the gorgeous stitching added by the Lacy Petals die when diecutting the shape.  You can also see the embossed card background where I used the recently retired Scripty embossing folder. The sentiment was punched out using the Treasured Tags Pick a Punch.

Mother's Day Storybook card

I'm getting ready for Mother's Day with the Stampin' Up! Dressed to Impress stamp set & co-ordinating All Dressed up dies. I created a storybook card and matching gift bag.

Here's the front of the card with its recessed panel of Best Dressed Designer Series Paper and embossed card stock where I used the Parisian Flourish embossing folder for added interest:

Here's a collage of the project.

The inside of this card was inspired by Dawn Griffiths, although all measurements, stamp sets and colour combinations used have changed and I've converted this special fold card to suit our metric paper sizes too.

If you like this project you may want to consider participating in my classes.  Given the current social distancing rules due to COVID-19, I've switched to running online classes each month. Mother's Day easel card

I used the very sweet Tea Together stamp set & co-ordinating dies to create this easel card for Mother's Day.

I designed the easel component of the card slightly differently this time so that the teapot & doily was more like a pop-up rather than the usual full easel card front.  As a tip: try embossing your diecuts for extra texture.  I used the Tufted embossing folder on the teapot for added interest.

All products used have been listed below - just click on the picture and it will take you to my online shop where you can purchase the item.  If you like this project you may want to consider attending a papercrafting class. I run classes each month - please contact me for further details if you live in Melbourne, Australia.  Private classes for you and your friends can be arranged for local crafters.
