Swirly #4 - Hello

This Hello card is the fourth in the Swirly card series that features the Stampin' Up! Swirly Bird stamp set and Swirly Scribbles thinlits bundle.

Do you sometimes need a card to let someone know you're thinking of them or even a card for a friend with a new home?  Then this card is perfect for such an occasion.

I started with a piece of  Very Vanilla card stock and embossed it using the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder on which I had brayered Cajun Craze ink to get the realistic brickwork background.  I then cut out a rectangle in the brick wall to make way for the window.  I die cut the window using the Hearth & Home thinlet, added the recently retired Sahara Sand lace behind the window and used foam strips to adhere the window onto the brick wall.

The trellis was made by stamping the Hardwood stamp onto Crumb Cake card stock using Crumb Cake ink and then die cutting it using a Swirly Scribbles thinlit.  The Swirly flowers and leaves were stamped using Peekaboo Peach and Pumpkin Pie ink before being die cut with Swirly Scribbles thinlit.  The leaves were stamped in Emerald Envy.  One leaf was left in the Very Vanilla colour and stamped  in Peekaboo Peach with the 'hello' sentiment from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set.

Swirly #3 - Let's go fly a kite

This is the third card in the Swirly product series.  From floral birthday and Christmas cards we now have a playful kite card which can be used for kids birthdays or other occasions too.

I started the card with a layer of Whisper White cardstock.  I masked off a column on the left side of the card and sponged Emerald Envy, Mint Macaron, Marina Mist and Dapper Denim ink to form the column.  I then stamped the striped part of the kite stamp from the Swirly Bird stamp set in both Emerald Envy and Dapper Denim randomly on the column.  I stamped the kite on a separate piece of Whisper White cardstock, fussy cut it out (very quick to do) and layered it onto the card.  I stamped the kite string & bows also from Swirly Bird stamp set directly on to the Whisper White layer along with the 'Enjoy the little things' sentiment from the Layering Love stamp set.  This Whisper White card front was then added to a Dapper Denim card base.

Christmas cake box

With the various Christmas in July events happening this month, who would like a piece of Christmas cake?

I used the Stampin' Up! Cutie Pie thinlets die set to create the cake box.  Before adhering the two pieces of the box together I embossed the top using the Holly Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I then stamped both sides of the box with the holly stamp from the Embellished Ornaments stamp set in Garden Green ink and used my Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Write marker to colour the berries.  The scallop trim and bow were die cut from the Cutie Pie thinlits set in Cherry Cobbler card stock.

To create the top floral embellishment, I used Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler and Crushed Curry card stock along with dies from the Flourish Thinlits and Botanical Builders framelit sets.  I added a Pearl Basic Jewel which I had coloured with an alcohol marker to both the centre of the floral embellishment and the centre of the bow to complete the cake box.  Once completed, the box can be filled with chocolates or other small treats of your choice.

Swirly #2 - Christmas in July

The Stampin' Up! Swirly Bird stamp set and co-ordinating Swirly Scribbles thinlits whilst an everyday type of stamp set, is so versatile it can be used to create Christmas cards too.  Here's one example.

I started with a Real Red card base and added a layer of Real Red Designer Series Paper Stack striped paper.  I then cut a rectangle of Silver Foil and die cut the Swirly Scribbles Christmas 'ornament' out of the middle of the rectangle.  I stamped in Real Red the Swirly Bird ornament onto Whisper White card stock, layered the Silver Foil ornament over the top for extra dimension and added some Silver 1/8" ribbon to finish the ornament. It was then layered onto a very thin mat of Real Red card stock. The sentiment is from the Peaceful Pines stamp set and was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  A few Rhinestones were added to the card for some extra sparkle.
