Happy Year of the Rooster

To all my friends celebrating the lunar/Chinese New Year this weekend, I'd like to wish you a very Happy New Year and all the best for the Year of the Rooster.

To make this card I started with a Stampin' Up! Basic Black card base layered with a mat of Gold Foil.  I then embossed some Real Red cardstock using the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and layered it over the Gold Foil.  The 'happy' word was die cut using the Hello You thinlits in retired Black Glimmer paper and layered over the diecut Rooster.  The 'happy new year' sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp set and was punched out using the Classic Label punch.  Some gold 1/8" ribbon and rhinestones which have been coloured gold completes the card.

Beautiful you elegance

The Stampin' Up! Beautiful You stamp set enables you to create quick, but elegant cards.

This is the second card I've made recently using the Beautiful You stamp set which features three ladies in different poses.  For this card, I started with a Stampin' Up! Basic Black card base.  I stamped the lady in Archival Basic Black and then stamped the Melon Mambo colour onto the dress (and yes, the pink 'squiggles' on her dress is from a stamp, not a marker).  I used a blender pen to pick up some Melon Mambo ink to colour her hat to match.  The sentiments are both from the same stamp set.

I then layered the stamped Whisper White card mat onto the card base and layered some Pop of Pink designer series paper onto the left edge.  I diecut the Basic Black cardstock using the Flourish thinlits border die and added this onto the Pop of Pink paper.

What lady doesn't like a little bling, so I added the Basic Jewel Rhinestones into the centre of the border diecut and also under the 'In Style' sentiment to finish the card.  I have some other samples of this card to show you in the coming weeks using paper piecing and watercolouring techniques, so pop back later to see which technique you prefer with this stamp set.

Flirty floral birthday

I made this birthday card recently for a friend. It features the Stampin' Up! Detailed Floral thinlits and Stylized Birthday stamp in a Flirty Flamingo, Gold and White colour combination.

I started with a Whisper White card base and added a strip of Gold Foil down the left side of the card.  I then die cut the Detailed Floral piece in Flirty Flamingo card stock and adhered it onto Whisper White card stock which had the Happy Birthday greeting stamped in Flirty Flamingo ink. This was then layered onto a slight bigger piece of Watermelon Wonder card stock and added to the card base.  A couple of metallic enamel shapes and a gold bow were added to complete the card.

Beautiful you & brighter days

One of my favourite stamp sets in the newly released 2017 Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalogue is the 'Beautiful You' stamp set.

This quick and easy card started with a Rich Razzleberry card base layered with Whisper White and Sweet Sugarplum card stock which had been embossed with the Polka Dot textured impressions embossing folder (sorry it's hard to see the embossing in this photo).  I stamped and quickly watercoloured the image on Whisper White card stock and layered it onto a very thin mat of Rich Razzleberry card stock and added it to the card base.  A Rich Razzleberry enamel heart completes the focal point.

Just a gentle reminder that between now and 31 March is a perfect time to stock up on your favourite Stampin' Up! products as for every $90 you spend, you get to choose a free item from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue. Spend $180 and you get to choose two free items etc. There is no limit to the number of free items you can choose from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue based on your eligible purchase.
