Angela's PaperArts: Tri-panel gatefold card

I recently attended a charity card making day and one of the types of cards we made was a tri-panel gatefold card. I like this style of card and have re-created it using some of my favourite retired patterned papers, the Stampin' Up!, Joy of Christmas DSP.

Here's the card closed and kept together with a bellyband. The gold foil sentiment is from the Greeting For You mix & match ephemera pack.

When the bellyband is removed, the card opens up to reveal the message to the recipient. If needed, you could even add a little pocket for a gift card inside too as there's plenty of space to hold a gift card or money.

While I've made this card in landscape orientation, it can also be easily flipped to be a portrait card too. The choice is yours. It does take a whole sheet of A4 cardstock to create the card base and bellyband, so it's not as economical to create as some other gatefold card styles, but I think the end result is worth it.

Angela's PaperArts: Heart Shaped Bundle Valentine's Day card

For Valentine's Day tomorrow I created this gatefold card.

Angela's PaperArts: Stampin Up heart shaped bundle gatefold card

It features the Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration Heart Shaped bundle (only available until 28 February, 2025 or while stock lasts) along with a sheet of the Marbled Elegance designer series paper which has cute little hearts on it.

If you're wondering how I got two colours onto the stamped heart image, here a little technique tip:

  • I inked the heart stamp first in Flirty Flamingo ink
  • I then used a sponge dauber to randomly dab Cherry Cobbler ink onto the heart stamp too.
  • I stamped the image which resulted in the two-tone heart inside the card.

I hope you found this tip useful.

Sale-A-Bration continues until the end of February. The good news is that additional Level 1 freebie options are available to select for eligible orders while stock lasts. It's the perfect time to stock up on your crafting essentials and earn some free products.

It features the Stampin' Up! Something Fancy stamp set & co-ordinating dies, Elegant Border dies and Dry Brushed Metallic paper.  The leafy gold wreath was diecut from one of the Natural Prints dies.

Here's the inside of the gatefold card where I used one of the Elegant Border dies for added interest.

Something old & something new - Ornate border gatefold card

This gatefold card features the retiring Stampin' Up! Special Celebrations stamp set and Petal Pink metallic edge ribbon along with the new Ornate Border & Ornate Layers dies.  Whilst I've made a birthday card this time, this style of card can be used for many different occasions including as a wedding card.

Here's a closed view of the card which has a sentiment belly band around the card to keep it closed.

Here's the open view of the card with the sentiment belly band removed.  I've allowed plenty of room to write a message to the card recipient:

Tip: I used the Stampin' Up! Stamparatus to evenly stamp the scroll image into each corner of the inside of the card.  Using the Stamparatus provided perfect placement of the image each time.

If you'd like to learn how to make this card, please message me at angelaspaperarts@outlook.com - various online classes are available for all Australian residents to complete their leisure, including a class on how to make this card.
