Angela's PaperArts: Thoughtful Journey Mother's Day card

I'm getting ready for Mother's Day here in Australia.

I love the new Stampin' Up! Thoughtful Journey suite and used it to create this Mother's Day card for my Mum.

I didn't want to waste an inch of this pretty paper, so I cut out the middle and layered it up on dimensionals.

Am I the only one thinking the florals in this suite look like Scottish thistles?

Inside the card I stamped the 'thistle' stamp using the direct to stamp technique. I coloured the stamp using my Stampin' Write markers instead of the inkpads so I could add two colours onto the stamp at the one time.

Healing hugs triple step card

I've always liked how quick and easy it is to do the triple step aka triple time card.  Here's one that features the Stampin' Up! Healing Hugs stamp set which is a distINKtive style of stamp.

SU Healing Hugs triple step, triple time card by Angela Lovel, Angela's PaperArts

So what is a distINKtive stamp? It's a style of stamp made by Stampin' Up! that adds monochromatic dimension to your stamped image - something you used to have to do using several stamp steps.  So with one floral stamp and a set of rose leaves from the Healing Hugs stamp set I was able to get a varied look on both in just one pass.

If you like this card, all products used are listed below and available from my online shop.  I also conduct papercrafting classes each month - please contact me for further details if you live in Melbourne, Australia.  Private classes for you and your friends can be arranged for local crafters.

Just for you

It's my Mum's birthday and I made this card for her which is based on  the triple time stamping technique.

I used the Stampin' Up! Awesomely Artistic stamp set to create the floral arrangement in two corners of the card and coloured it using the Stampin' Write markers. I then used the Stampin' Up! Square framelits to cut the middle section out of the card which was then layered onto Blushing Bride cardstock and added to the card base using foam dimensionals.  I wrapped some Blushing Bride cotton ribbon around the opposite corners of each layer to add interest too.

To create the butterfly I used the Watercolor Wings stamp set to colour the butterfly and then die cut it using the Butterfly thinlets. The 'Just for you' sentiment is also from the same stamp set. The butterfly was attached using glue dots and I added some Blushing Bride sequin trim onto the body for extra sparkle (with thanks to team-mate Alison Douglas for the sequin trim tip).   I stamped two Papillon Potpourri butterflies and punched them out using the Bitty Butterfly punch. The card layers were mounted onto a Blushing Bride base which had been embossed with the Decorative Dots embossing folder.

The key products used on this card have been listed below - just click on the picture and it will take you to my online store where the product can be purchased.  Papercrafting classes and workshops are available, please feel free to contact me for details.
