Window shopping birthday card

I'm always in need of birthday cards for family and friends and thought I'd make use of the gorgeous metallic Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration ribbon to make this card.

I started this card with a Stampin' Up! Basic Black card base and layered some Watermelon Wonder card stock on top.  On a piece of Whisper White, I used one of the large dies from the Window Box Thinlits set to diecut the floral 'window' centrepiece.  I then layered some Fruit Stand Designer Series Paper under the 'see through' floral window. The Happy Birthday sentiment from the Window Shopping stamp set was stamped in Watermelon Wonder ink at the bottom of the card.  A piece of the gorgeous Sale-A-Bration White & Silver Metallic Ribbon was layered down the side of the card before adding it to the card base.  This ribbon can be yours too for free with any $90 qualifying order until 31 March 2017 (or while stock lasts).  Two butterflies from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set were punched out using the Bitty Butterfly punch, a rhinestone added and layered over the floral window.

The products used on this card have been listed below - just click on the picture and it will take you to my online store where the product can be purchased. Workshops and papercrafting classes are also available - please contact me for details.  Don't forget that from now until 31 March, spend $90 on Stampin' Up! products and you get to choose a free Sale-a-Bration item (while stock lasts).

Thinking of you

There are times when you want your friends to know that you're there for them.  I made this card for one such friend.

I started with a Stampin' Up! Basic Black card stock base and added a layer of Calypso Coral card stock and the retiring Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper.  Using the fern from the Butterfly Basics stamp set, I stamped it in Old Olive ink three times onto Very Vanilla card stock. Using the same stamp set, I stamped the postage mark in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the Butterflies in Calypso Coral ink.  I also punched out three butterflies using the Bitty Butterfly punch to give it a 3D effect and added some Pearl Basic Jewels onto the butterflies. The small black border at the bottom of the centre piece was also from the same stamp set too.  This Very Vanilla card stock centre piece was added to a some Basic Black card stock and layered onto the card base.

I then used the Thinking of You stamp from the Thoughts & Prayers stamp set for the sentiment.  It was punched using the Large oval punch and layered onto Calypso Coral card stock which had been punched using the Scallop Oval punch. A bow was made from Calypso Coral seam binding ribbon  was added to the side of the sentiment.

Sneak Peak #2: Stampin' Up! 2016-18 In-Color Peekaboo Peach

I was fortunate to be selected by Stampin' Up! to make card samples using the brand new Stampin' Up! 2016-18 In-Colors for the demonstrator only #OnStage2016 event held in Sydney on 16 April.

I received a couple of new stamp sets along with the five new colours and was asked to make 20 card samples (four of each colour) to highlight the new 2016-18 In-Colors.

This is the second of five posts, one for each colour giving you a sneak peek of the new colours and some of the new stamp sets being released with the new annual catalogue on 1 June 2016.  If you are interested in Stampin' Up! products and are located in Australia, please contact me as I'd be happy to assist you.

Colour #2: Peekaboo Peach

Stampin' Up! #OnStage2016 Peekaboo Peach 2016-18 In-Color

Peekaboo Peach is a lovely apricot colour which works well with many of the other Stampin' Up! colours such as Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip.

This card features Peekaboo Peach card stock and classic ink along with the new Sitting Here stamp set.  This is a terrific stamp set for creating scenes like the one above.  I used sponging and watercolouring techniques to create this card.  The overhanging trees were created using the current In the Meadow stamp set. I fussy cut several of the stamped images used on this card to layer them and add dimension.

This corner fold card features Peekaboo Peach card stock, 2016-18 In-Color DSP stack and classic ink along with the new Sitting Here stamp set. I dry embossed the front of the card with the Elegant Dots TIEF for some added texture.  The 'happy birthday' sentiment from the Birthday Blossoms stamp set was stamped in Tip Top Taupe and layered onto a Pumpkin Pie banner.

This card features Peekaboo Peach 30.5cmx30.5cm 2016-18 In-Color DSP stack and classic ink along with the new Gift of Love hostess stamp set.  I used the masking technique when stamping the flowers on this card. I also used Chocolate Chip classic ink and card stock and added a decorative touch to the top corner with the retiring Curvy Corner Trio punch. Some pearls and white bakers twine complete the card.

This card features the Peekaboo Peach 30.5cmx30.5cm 2016-18 In-Color DSP stack and classic ink along with the new Layering Love stamp set.  I sponged Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo, Daffodil Delight & Pool Party onto some Whisper White card stock then created the butterflies from the sponged card stock by using the Bitty Butterfly punch or Butterflies thinlets.   Some Black bakers twine and a few Rhinestones add a little sparkle to the card.

I hope you've enjoyed this sneak peek of some new stamp sets and the Peekaboo Peach 2016-18 In-Color. Check back later for further colour sneak peeks.
