Angela's PaperArts: Quiet Meadow sympathy card

I created this simple card for a challenge where I needed to use masking and ink blending techniques to create a sympathy card.

The card features the Stampin' Up! Quiet Meadow stamp set and co-ordinating Meadow Dies along with a Soft Succulent, Basic White & Basic Black colour scheme.

Angela's PaperArts: Stampin Up Hand Penned and Meadow dies card

I hope you've been enjoying my series of Hand Penned Designer Series Paper cards.  Here's my last card in this series. 

I used one of the Basic Border dies to overlap the Hand Penned DSP before decorating it with diecuts from the Meadow Dies set (part of the Quiet Meadow bundle).  

I diecut some of the leaves using the gorgeous 2021-23 InColor Shimmer Vellum.  This vellum truly does shimmer.  I diecut and watercoloured the floral image. The sentiment is from the Many Messages stamp set.

I made this birthday card for a special person in my life.

It features the Stampin' Up! Butterfly Brilliance bundle and Many Messages stamp set for the sentiment.  I also used the Joseph's Coat technique to create the colourful background on the card.

Angela's PaperArts: Hand Penned and Quiet Meadow sympathy card

I'm continuing to create cards using my favourite Hand Penned Designer Series Paper and this second card actually features the reverse side of the paper used on last week's birthday card.  I love the soft and delicate pattern on this paper.

This time I teamed the DSP with the Quiet Meadow stamp set (which is available separately or in a bundle with co-ordinating dies).  I coloured the focal image using my Stampin Blends alcohol markers.  The side border was created from the Basic Border dies.

Angela's PaperArts: Stampin Up Hand Penned & Biggest Wish birthday card

From 1 July - 2 August 2021, a select number of Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper (DSP) packs will be discounted by 15%.  You can see all those on sale here. One of my favourite DSPs on sale is the Hand Penned DSP and I've created a few cards which I'll share over the coming weeks which feature this beautiful paper.

There are so many different colours in this DSP which makes it easy to mix and match. 

Here's my first card.  

I used the simple technique of cutting the Hand Penned DSP on an angle to add some extra interest to the card.  This then gave me space to stamp my sentiment which is from the Biggest Wish stamp set, without having to add extra layers onto the card.

I highlighted the border by using the Open Weave Soft Succulent ribbon and added the finishing touches of a butterfly from the Brilliant Wings dies.

Angela's PaperArts: Stampin Up Treasured Medallions card

Sadly the Stampin' Up! Treasured Medallion stamp set is retiring next week and I've certainly enjoyed creating cards with it.

For this version I coloured the images using my Stampin Blends alcohol markers.

You may remember the black & pink version above that I made earlier this year.  While the stamped design is identical to today's card, using different techniques can give a completely different look to your card.  So don't be afraid to copy one of your previous designs and use a different technique to change its overall look.

Which do you prefer?  The black & pink Joseph's coat technique or white Stampin Blends alcohol marker coloured one?
