Angela's PaperArts: Stampin' Up! Side Split Panel Christmas card

I do like using metallics on my Christmas projects. I feel it adds that little special touch appropriate for the festive season.  This Side Split Panel card has lots of gold embellishment.

The Decorative Tree diecut was stamped and heat embossed using the WOW! gold embossing powder

The Season of Green & Gold paper is part of a broader suite with a co-ordinating stamp & die bundle, but I liked how it still paired well with the Decorative Trees bundle.

If you'd like to learn how to make this style of card, you can find my tutorial here.

The current Stampin' Up! products used on the project can be purchased from my online store if you live in Australia.

Treasured Medallion card

As many of my crafty friends know, I do like creating projects with medallion or mandala stamps.  This card is no exception and it features the Stampin' Up! Treasured Medallion stamp set.

Angela Lovel, Angela's PaperArts: Stampin Up Treasured Medallion card featuring the Joseph's Coat technique

I used the Joseph's Coat technique to get this effect and the bright colours contrast so well with the black background. I also added some sequins to give it some extra shine too. If you'd like to learn this technique, I'll be teaching it in my April 2021 class.

Online papercrafting classes are available for Australian residents and new classes are released each month.  Please contact me if you're interested in learning papercrafting.

Graduation card

A very special person in my life graduated with his Bachelor of Business Degree yesterday.

Stampin' Up! Graduation card by Angela Lovel, Angela's PaperArts featuring Royal Peacock stamp set

The sentiment from the Stampin' Up! Royal Peacock stamp set was just perfect for the occasion which I embossed with silver embossing powder. I created the trencher (cap) by doing some punch art. I used the Tailored Tag punch along with a Circle punch with the pieces layered together.

Whitewashed Magnolia

I took the design from my Golden Magnolia card from a few weeks ago and flipped it 90 degrees to make a landscape version.

Stampin' Up! Good Morning Magnolia - Whitewashed Magnolia card by Angela Lovel, Angela's PaperArts http://angelaspaperarts.stampinup.net

Just like the Golden Magnolia version, I heat embossed the magnolia image from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set with gold embossing powder.  I used the white craft ink to 'whitewash' the image this time and added a touch of Rococo Rose ink in the centre.  You can see this technique in the annual catalogue on page 121.

I used the decorative die from the Perfect Parcels die set to add some extra dimension to the card along with the sentiment label from the same set.

Here's a close up of the card.

Tip: For successful heat embossing you should prepare your card stock first by rubbing the embossing buddy over the card stock.  This helps prevent stray bits of embossing powder from sticking to your project.

Golden magnolia card

Here's one of the cards we'll be making at next week's technique class featuring heat embossing.

SU Good Morning Magnolia card by Angela Lovel, Angela's PaperArts http://angelaspaperarts.stampinup.net

I just love watching the magic happen with heat embossing.  This card was made by stamping the Magnolia flower from the Stampin' Up! Good Morning Magnolia stamp set in Versamark ink, adding the gold embossing powder and using the heat tool to turn the powder into beautiful gold embossing.

All products used can be purchased from my my online store.  If you like this project you may want to consider attending a papercrafting class. I run classes each month and have one space still available for next week's heat embossing technique class - please contact me for further details if you live in Melbourne, Australia.  Private classes for you and your friends can be arranged for local crafters.

Watercoloured magnolia card

I've been really enjoying using the Stampin' Up! Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and co-ordinating Magnolia Memory dies.

Stampin' Up! Good morning magnolia watercoloured card by Angela Lovel, Angela's PaperArts

For this card I decided to heat emboss the stamped image with white embossing powder and then watercoloured it featuring the new Rococo Rose ink.  I kept the colouring light rather than full strength to create a delicate look.  A little piece of scallop lace trim under the sentiment added a vintage touch.

If you like this project you may want to consider attending a papercrafting class. I run classes each month - please contact me for further details if you live in Melbourne, Australia.  Private classes for you and your friends can be arranged for local crafters.

Build it birthday card

This birthday card was made for my Dad who trained as a carpenter/joiner and still loves making beautiful items out of wood.

http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx?dbwsdemoid=4011749

I started with a Stampin' Up! Basic Black card base and added a layer of Basic Gray card stock and the Urban Underground Designer Series Paper.

I created the 'grungy' hexagon strip down the card by dry embossing some Silver Foil paper with the Hexagon Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I also heat embossed this strip and added some black StazOn ink to give it the grungy look.  The tools were diecut using the Build It framelits set.

The sentiment was stamped using the Everyday Tags stamp set and diecut using one of the Stitched Shapes Framelits oval dies.

The products used on this card have been listed below - just click on the product picture and it will take you to my online store where the product can be purchased. Workshops and papercrafting classes are also available - please contact me for details.  Don't forget that from now until 31 March, spend $90 on Stampin' Up! products and you get to choose a free Sale-a-Bration item.

Something Borrowed Wedding Card

A work colleague is getting this weekend and I made this centre step card for the couple featuring the new Stampin' Up! Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper from the Occasions catalogue.

A tutorial detailing how to make a centre step card can be found here.   This wedding card features the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper with its Whisper White and Sahara Sand colour scheme.  I've used a Hearts Collection framelit to cut out the centre heart which has been stamped with the Everything Eleanor stamp set flourish.  I also used the retired Broadsheet Alphabet for the heat embossed monograms. The Label Card ampersand die was used to join the couple's initials together within the heart.  A good substitute for the retired Broadsheet alphabet stamp is the new Sophisticated Serifs stamp set found on page 44 of the Occasions catalogue.  A couple of itty bitty hearts, leaves, white tulle from my stash and pearls complete this card.

The key products used on this card have been listed below - just click on the picture and it will take you to my online store where the product can be purchased.  From now until 31 March 2015 is a terrific time to place an order as you can receive a free Sale-A-Bration item for every $90 order (excluding shipping).  Click here to learn how to obtain free items during Sale-A-Bration:
