Bright & Beautiful Bundle card

With the release of the new Holiday catalogue plus the Big Shot bundle special happening during August, I couldn't resist getting the Bright & Beautiful stamp set with matching Star framelits dies.

Here's the card I made using this set:

I embossed the background cardstock with dots to match the patterned paper.  I also couldn't resist using some glimmer paper to give it a festive feel.  The sentiment is from the Good Greetings stamp set which you will receive free up until 31 October 2014 when placing an order or having a workshop worth $300 (excluding postage).  You also get the usual hostess benefits on top of this too - double the freebies!

You only have until 31 August to take advantage of the Bright & Beautiful and matching Star framelits bundle special.  After that date they will be sold separately. If you don't have a Big Shot, you can buy one and get the Star bundle free - but this super special finishes 31 August.  To see all the bundle options available until 31 August - click on this link to my online store. http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryid=1153&dbwsdemoid=4011749

All items used on this card have been listed below.  Click on the picture to view and order them online 24/7.  Alternatively feel free to send me a message and I'd be happy to place the order for you and where possible, will help save you postage costs if you do live locally. Don't forget to check the Clearance section of my store too for even more bargains.  If you have any questions, please leave a comment or contact me privately - happy to assist anytime.  How to use your Big Shot and other papercrafting classes are available.

Artist Trading Cards

I belong to a papercrafting group that swap ATCs - Artist Trading Cards.  We've been swapping ATCs for many years and I enjoy creating this crafty project every second month. It doesn't take a lot of time and I use the opportunity to explore new techniques whenever I can.  For anyone unfamiliar with ATCs, it's a bit like the footy or baseball swap cards. It's a small piece of original work that measures 2.5" x 3.5".  There is no right or wrong way to create an ATC - you just need to keep to the measurements and any criteria provided then the rest is up to your imagination.

This swap's criteria was 'Sparkling Snowflakes' - we needed to include something representing coolness and some sparkle.  Here's what I made:

Group picture of the 8 versions I needed to make to swap with the other participants.

I did use some retired Stampin' Up! stamps plus included some new items too which are listed below.  The 'Sparkle' title comes from a brand new hostess only stamp set called 'Good Greetings'.  This stamp set can be yours for free starting 28 August with any qualifying order or workshop over $300 (excluding shipping).

Just a reminder that the fantastic deal on the Big Shot machine where you get a free bundled stamp set and matching framelits set too finishes on 31 August.  To see the options and take advantage of this limited time deal click on this link to my online store.  http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryid=1153&dbwsdemoid=4011749

Holiday Catalogue 'Christmas Cheer' Sneak Peek

The Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue will be available from 28 August 2014.  Here's a Z fold card I've just made which has a sneak peek of some of the gorgeous products being released in the Holiday Catalogue.

The colour scheme is Lost Lagoon, Silver/Smoky Slate and Whisper White.

To make the Z fold card using an A4 piece of paper:
  1. Cut A4 cardstock to 6" x 11.25"
  2. Put the cardstock into your trimmer with the short side at the top of the trimmer with the edge at the 3" mark tapering down to 6" at the bottom of the trimmer.  Cut to get the angle on this card.
  3. Score long side at 3.75" and 7.5"
  4. Fold into the Z shape
  5. Decorate as desired.
I used the Big Shot to cut out many of the shapes used on this card.  The deco label on the very front of the card can be yours free with any Big Shot purchased during August.  You also get the matching deco label stamp set free too this month only. There are five framelits and stamp bundles which are part of this fantastic deal with any Big Shot machine purchase during August. If you already have a Big Shot, you get 15% discount on these bundles during August too. To see the options and take advantage of this great deal click on this link to my online store.  http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryid=1153&dbwsdemoid=4011749

You can order via my online store 24/7 or feel free to send me a message and I'd be happy to place the order for you and where possible, will help save you postage costs if you do live locally. Don't forget to check the Clearance section of my store too for even more bargains.

I've listed all current Stampin' Up! products used on this card below.  Unfortunately I cant display the Holiday Catalogue items just yet as they're available for purchase after 28 August but their names are:  Cheerful Christmas and Letterpress Winter stamp sets, Snowflake Card Thinlits Dies and All is Calm Specialty DSP. To view or purchase any of these products, please click on the product picture.  If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment or contact me privately - happy to assist anytime.  How to use your Big Shot and other papercrafting classes are available.

Owl Punch Tag

I have a quick and easy tag project this week as I needed a gift tag for a friend who adores Owls.  Problem solved by using the Stampin' Up! Owl Builder punch.

Here's the gift tag:

This is an easy tag to make.  I ran the Very Vanilla cardstock tag base through the Big Shot using the Woodgrain textured impressions embossing folder. I then punched out the various owl pieces using the Owl Builder punch, Chocolate Chip, Melon Mambo, Whisper White and Real Red cardstock and DSP.  The leaves were punched out of Garden Green cardstock using the Bird Builder punch. I sponged some Chocolate Chip ink around the edges and over the embossed areas of the Very Vanilla base to highlight the texture.  The Very Vanilla base was then attached to a Chocolate Chip tag base to reinforce the tag.  A piece of retired Melon Mambo ribbon was added to finish the tag.  There is plenty of space on the back of the tag to write a message.

Want to be able to add texture to your cardstock like the Woodgrain texture in the Owl tag?  During August, Stampin' Up! has a fantastic deal on the Big Shot machine where you get a free bundled stamp set and matching framelits set too.  You can also buy the textured impressions embossing folders to use in the Big Shot too at any time.  To see the options and take advantage of this deal click on this link to my online store.  http://www3.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ItemList.aspx?categoryid=1153&dbwsdemoid=4011749

You can order online 24/7 or feel free to send me a message and I'd be happy to place the order for you and where possible, will help save you postage costs if you do live locally. Don't forget to check the Clearance section of my store too for even more bargains.
