Happy birthday

I thoroughly enjoyed making this birthday card.

To create this card I started with a Stampin' Up! Thick Whisper White card base. I then embossed some of the standard Whisper White card stock using the Sparkle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and layered it onto the card base.

To create the copper side panel, I used the Pattern Party Decorative Masks and Embossing Paste on some Whisper White card stock. The paste is very easy to use and if you can butter your toast, you can use the Stampin' Up! embossing paste - just keep your palette knife flat when applying the paste and you'll get a nice smooth finish. When the paste was still slightly damp to touch, I brushed some copper pigment powder onto the paste and it immediately adhered to the paste. It only takes a few minutes for the paste to dry and lock in the pigment powder. As an alternate to pigment powder you can for example use glitter, paint or ink to colour the paste. Heat embossing with Stampin' Up! copper embossing powder would also work too! Once dry, I layered the embossed panel onto a slighty larger Basic Black card stock panel and adhered it to the left side of the card.

To complete the card I diecut the Happy Birthday sentiment using the Happy Birthday Thinlits die and adhered it to the card.

2017-19 In-Color Fresh Fig card

This is the third in a series of posts featuring the five new 2017-19 Stampin' Up! In-Colors from the new Annual Catalogue which launched on 1 June 2017.

The colour I'm featuring this week is Fresh Fig.

Stampin' Up! Fresh Fig Happy Birthday Thinlits card by Angela Lovel, Angela's PaperArts

To create this card I started with a Stampin' Up! Whisper White card base onto which I layered some of the Fresh Fig coloured Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper.

I then used the Lots of Labels framelits to create the centre piece in Whisper White and added a Gold Foil border at the top and bottom of it too. The Happy Birthday was diecut twice, once in Whisper White card stock and again in Fresh Fig card stock using the Happy Birthday Thinlits die. The two sentiments were layered together to give a 'shadow' effect before being adhered to the centre piece. I coloured some of our Rhinestones with a Copic marker (Y26) to match the Gold Foil. To finish the card I added one of the very cute Fresh Fig Mini Tassels with a Gold 1/8" ribbon bow.

Delightful Mother's Day sneak peek

This Sunday is Mother's Day in Australia and I'd like to wish all the Mums a very Happy Mother's Day. I made this card for my Mum using the new Stampin' Up! Delightful Daisy suite and Happy Birthday Thinlits which will be available from 1 June 2017.

To make this card I started with a Stampin' Up! Daffodil Delight card base. I then layered Whisper White card stock and Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper (DSP) on top. A smaller strip of Delightful Daisy DSP was cut and some Daffodil Delight Double Stitched ribbon was added down the centre of the DSP and adhered to the card base. I then used the Daisy Delight stamp set to stamp the daisies, punched them out using the Daisy Punch and layered them together. I stamped the leaves in Old Olive ink onto Old Olive card stock and tucked them under the daisy. The Mother's Day sentiment is from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set and was punched out using the Classic Label Punch. Two pearls were then added to each end of the sentiment. The 'Happy' was diecut using the new Happy Birthday Thinlits three times. It was easy to cut off the 'Birthday' part of the thinlit so I could just use the Happy word. I layered the three Happy diecuts together to give it some height before adhering it to the card base.
