Wonderful Washi with a Cherry on Top

I often receive questions about how to use washi tape.  Stampin' Up! have brought out some very versatile washi tapes in the current catalogue and I thought I'd put together some projects featuring the Cherry on Top washi tape range.

All the items in the picture above were made using washi tape as a key feature on each project.
  • Washi tape can be used instead of designer series/patterned paper - just run a strip(s) of tape straight or at angles across some cardstock.
  • Layer strips of washi tape on cardstock and use your dies and BigShot to cut out shapes.  I've done this for the balloon, bow on the gift bag and flag/banner ends on both the gift bag and 'happy birthday' card.
  • Washi tape can be used on more than just paper - I've covered the metal lid of the bottle holding the product sign with washi tape too.

Here are some detailed photos:

Angled or straight - washi tape adds interest to your projects.

Die cut layered washi tape for decorative embellishments like the balloons on these cards.

Run straight strips of washi tape at the top and bottom of a card to add a splash of colour.

I hope this encourages you to have some fun with washi tape.

You've Got This birthday card

It's a friend's birthday soon and as she loves flowers I thought I'd make her a floral card featuring the new Stampin' Up! You've Got This stamp set.

The colour scheme is primarily Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White and a touch of Delightful Dijon.  I layered the card base and used the Striped Scallop thinlets diecut in Blackberry Bliss as an accent.  I used the Stampin Write markers to colour the You've Got This floral stamp.  The sentiment is from the  Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set and I added a piece of Delightful Dijon Dotted Lace trim to finish the flower.

Happy Age Awareness Birthday

I needed a birthday and thought I'd use the new Bohemian Designer Series Paper ('DSP') to make this card.

The colour scheme is Island Indigo, Delightful Dijon (one of the new 2015-17 In-Colors) and Very Vanilla.  I used a piece of the Bohemian DSP as a layer under the sentiment which is from the Age Awareness stamp set. I then cut the diamonds from another piece of co-ordinating Bohemian DSP to add accents onto the card.

The key products used on this card have been listed below - just click on the picture and it will take you to my online store where the product can be purchased.  Papercrafting classes and workshops are also available.

From my heart card

The new Stampin' Up! 2015-16 annual catalogue went live on 2 June 2015 and I thought I'd feature the newly released Watermelon Wonder colour.

I stamped the Itty Bitty Accents Heart and Groovy Love Heart onto Whisper White using the Watermelon Wonder inkpad. The sentiment also comes from the Groovy Love stamp set and was diecut using the Bitty Banners framelits.  The new 2015-17 In-Color Envelope paper with it's Watermelon Wonder & Whisper White colour scheme was flagged using the new Triple Banner Punch and used as accent layers on the card.  The Watermelon Wonder card stock was dry embossed using the Woodgrain embossing folder for added texture.  Some bakers twine, candy dot and pearls coloured black with a Sharpie completed the card.

The key products used on this card have been listed below - just click on the picture and it will take you to my online store where the product can be purchased.  Papercrafting classes and workshops are also available.
