Treasured medallion split negative card

I'm still on a roll using the Stampin' Up! Treasured Medallion stamp set.  This time I combined it with the split negative technique.

Angela Lovel, Angela's PaperArts: Stampin Up Treasured Medallion split negative card

I also used the True Love Designer Series Paper to co-ordinate with the black & white split negative focal image.  I taught how to make this card in my online class this month. While the class kit has sold out, the class itself is still available if you'd like learn how to make this style card and use your own supplies. Please contact me for details if interested in this or my regular monthly papercrafting classes.

You also don't have to use a symmetrical shape for this technique.  You can use any focal stamp to create this effect.  Here's an example of where I've used the Stampin' Up! Delicate Petals floral image and instead of white heat embossing, I've stamped in the sadly retired Delicata Silver metallic ink to get a similar effect. While the split negative image doesn't quite 'pop' as well as using white embossing powder on the Basic Black cardstock, it is still effective.

All the supplies used to make this card are listed below. Simply click on the link to see all the details in my online store.

Treasured Medallion card

As many of my crafty friends know, I do like creating projects with medallion or mandala stamps.  This card is no exception and it features the Stampin' Up! Treasured Medallion stamp set.

Angela Lovel, Angela's PaperArts: Stampin Up Treasured Medallion card featuring the Joseph's Coat technique

I used the Joseph's Coat technique to get this effect and the bright colours contrast so well with the black background. I also added some sequins to give it some extra shine too. If you'd like to learn this technique, I'll be teaching it in my April 2021 class.

Blended Birthday Wishes card

I love how easy it is to take a simple piece of black & white True Love Designer Series Paper and turn it into a completely differently colour using the Stampin' Up! Blending Brushes.

Angela Lovel, Angela's PaperArts, Stampin Up! Blending Brushes and True Love DSP birthday card

On this card, I used various Stampin' Up! yellow toned inks over the True Love DSP to create an ombre effect. The Butterfly Wishes stamp set was used for the sentiments and the Dragonflies punch for the little embellishments.

If you're wondering if you need Stampin' Up!'s new Blending Brushes, hopefully my new tips and technique video below will answer your questions.

These Blending Brushes are now my 'go to' ink blending tool and I explain why in the video, along with tips on how to get a nice smooth ink blend.  If you purchase a set of these Blending Brushes from me, I'll email you a two page PDF tips document on how to care for and use your brushes.

February Vine Design thank you cards

These are some of the thank you cards I made to thank customers who placed an order with me during February.

Angela Lovel, Angela's PaperArts, Stampin' Up! Vine Design thank you cards

I used the 2021 Sale-a-Bration Flower & Field Designer Series Paper on the card base.  I then diecut the circular Vine Design die in Just Jade cardstock and layered it onto a Basic White cardstock circle.  The 'Thank You' sentiment is also from the Vine Design bundle
