Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween to those who celebrate this occasion.

I got into the spirit of Halloween this year and made some 3D treat boxes ready for the trick or  treaters.

The first box is the a Bat Curvy Keepsake box filled with little chocolates.

I made the usual curvy keepsake box out of Basic Black card stock.  I then punched two large ovals which would become its wings and using a 1/2" circle punch, punched out the scalloped section. I used two other circle punches to make the kooky bat eyes.   The 'Just for You' sentiment was stamped onto Calypso Coral card stock punched out using the Word Window Punch and attached with white bakers twine.  The bat is sitting on the Spider Doilies found in the Holiday Catalogue and available from my online store.

The next treat box was made from the Stampin' Up! Bigz Fry Box.

I diecut the Fry Box from Very Vanilla card stock and decorated it with the Happy Haunting Designer Series Paper.  I also used the Washi Label Punch to punch out a piece of the Happy Haunting DSP and added the black glimmer paper 'Boo' onto the Washi Label.  A piece of Spider Doily decorated the back section of the box with a black glimmer paper arrow pointing to all the Halloween chocolate goodies.

Both the Curvy Keepsake and the Bigz Fry box can be decorated to suit any occasion. With Christmas coming up, you could easily use Christmas colours and Designer Series Paper to give these boxes a festive look.

Ice Cream please

One of the things I like about the Stampin' Up! company is their support for worthwhile charities.  This year for every Sprinkles of Life stamp set sold (see page 189 of the annual catalogue), $3 will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities to keep families together during difficult times when their children are ill.

Here's a card I made featuring the Sprinkles of Life stamp set.

I stamped in Blushing Bride ink the You've Got This background stamp onto Whisper White cardstock.  I then stamped the cone and ice-creams from the Sprinkles of Life stamp set and punched out the pieces by using the co-ordinating Tree Builder punch.  I cut a 1" piece of Mint Macaron cardstock, embossing it with the Decorative Dots embossing folder and flagged each end with the new Banner Triple Punch.

Here's a close up of the Dazzling Details which added some sparkle to the ice cream.

Happy teen birthday

Making cards for teenage boys is sometimes best kept simple.  I used the Stampin' Up! Happy Birthday Everyone hostess set to create today's card.

I used the Chevron embossing folder for the base of the card and stamped the sentiment using Smoky Slate ink and the Happy Birthday Everyone hostess stamp set. I used the banner triple punch to help make the flag ends of the sentiment.  The banner was stamped using the Celebrate Today set and diecut using the Balloons framelits set. A few punched stars which had been stamped using the Groovy Love stamp set and some candy dots complete the card.

Interested in getting any of the Stampin' Up! hostess stamp sets?  They are an option to anyone placing a qualifying order of at least $250 (excluding shipping). Gather a group of friends and place one large order together to qualify or place an order yourself and still be eligible to get sets for free using your Stampin' reward dollars.
