Easter Treats

With only a few days left to this year's Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration offers, I thought I'd start preparing for Easter using the *free Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper and Best Year Ever Accessory Pack.

One of the things I love about the Stampin' Up! cello bags is that they're food safe.  I filled the long cello 'tube' bag with speckled eggs knowing they would be safe to eat at Easter.  I bought the glass jar from a discount shop and decorated it with both the Sale-A-Bration Best Year Ever DSP and co-ordinating ribbon from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack.

Lastly I made an old Australian favourite 'sunnyboy'  pouch which I filled with chocolate Easter eggs.  The sunnyboy pouch is so easy to make - just take a rectangular piece of paper, seal the sides and one end together, fill the pouch then seal the other end the opposite way to form the distinctive triangle shape.  For my pouch, I punched a circle out of the Best Year Every DSP and placed a piece of Stampin' Up! window sheet over the hole to seal the pouch so you can see the eggs.

If you'd like to learn how to make any of these items, please contact me as workshops and papercrafting classes are available.  The key products used on this card have been listed below - just click on the picture and it will take you to my online store where the product can be purchased.  Just a reminder that Sale-A-Bration finishes 31 March and until then for every $90 you spend in my store (excluding shipping) you are eligible to receive a free Sale-A-Bration gift like the ones used on this Easter treats.

Congrats side spring fold card

Stampin' Up's Sale-A-Bration is rapidly coming to an end for 2015 and I thought I'd share a side spring fold card I made recently for someone special which features two of the free Sale-A-Bration items - the Best Year Ever designer series paper and the Simply Wonderful stamp set. The card was inspired by fellow papercrafter Beate Johns.

I used Whisper White for the card base and layered it with Calypso Coral cardstock and the Best Year Ever designer series paper.  I stamped and punched out the Petals Potpourri flower three times, fussy cut the top layer of the flower into a smaller size and added a large pearl which had been coloured with our discontinued Daffodil Delight Blendabilities alcohol marker. I added some leaves from the versatile Bird Builder punch which were sponged with co-ordinating Costal Cabana ink.  I used the 'Congrats' sentiment from the Simply Wonderful Sale-A-Bration free stamp set to complete the card.

If you'd like to learn how to make this side spring fold card, please contact me as workshops and papercrafting classes are available.  The key products used on this card have been listed below - just click on the picture and it will take you to my online store where the product can be purchased.  Just a reminder that Sale-A-Bration finishes 31 March and until then for every $90 you spend in my store (excluding shipping) you are eligible to receive a free Sale-A-Bration gift like the ones used on this card.

Oh Happy Days card

It was my brother in law's birthday last month and I made this card for him with a 'fence' theme as he owns a fencing company.

To create this card I used the Stampin' Up! Hardwood stamp to create the 'fence' background layer twice - once for the base layer of the card and the extra piece was cut to make the horizontal fence posts upon which I clustered the sentiment and embellishments.  I used linen thread to add some additional texture around the wooden arrow and layered the sentiment cluster together. The sentiment cluster was stamped and diecut using the Starburst framelits. Some co-ordinating candy dots were used to represent fence 'nails' and the card was complete.

The key products used on this card have been listed below - just click on the picture and it will take you to my online store where the product can be purchased.  From now until 31 March 2015 is a terrific time to place an order as you can receive a free Sale-A-Bration item for every $90 spent in my store (excluding shipping).  Click here to learn how to obtain free items during Sale-A-Bration:
