Happy Chinese New Year

Wishing those who celebrate the Chinese New Year a happy and prosperous Year of the Pig.  I made this card for a couple of friends who do celebrate the Chinese New Year.

I used the Seasonal Layers Thinlits along with the Colorful Seasons stamp set to create this card in a traditional red and gold colour scheme.

Forever young centre step card

I do enjoy making centre step cards and thought I'd make a male version for a change.

To create this card I layered the Stampin' Up! Whisper White card base with Marina Mist card stock which had been embossed with the Seaside Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  The edges of the card stock were sponged with Dapper Denim ink.

To create the scenic focal image I used the High Tide stamp set on Whisper White card stock.  I added the Adirondack chair which had been diecut from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits set after having been stamped with the Hardwood woodgrain stamp.  I then trimmed some of the Burlap ribbon, coiled it along the bottom of the card, added a Marina Mist Enamel Shape to the centre of the coil then attached it to the anchor which came from the Guys Greetings stamp set.

2017-19 In-Color Lemon Lime Twist card

This is the fourth in a series of posts featuring the five new 2017-19 Stampin' Up! In-Colors from the new Annual Catalogue which launched on 1 June 2017.

The colour I'm featuring this week is the bright & cheery Lemon Lime Twist.

To create this card I started with a Stampin' Up! Whisper White card base and layered some of the Lemon Lime Twist coloured Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper on top.

To create the centre focal piece, I diecut a large scallop oval in Lemon Lime Twist card stock and adhered it to the card base.  I then diecut a large stitched oval in Whisper White card stock and stamped it using the Happy Birthday gorgeous stamp set and adhered it to the scallop oval.  Lastly I diecut the detailed leaf from the Seasons Layers thinlits set, added a Gold 1/8" ribbon bow and adhered it to the oval  to complete the card.

2017-19 In-Color Berry Burst card

The colour I'm featuring this week is Berry Burst and it has quickly become one of my favourite colours.

To create this card I started with a Stampin' Up! Whisper White card base and layered some of the Berry Burst coloured Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper on top.

I then used the Lots of Labels dies to diecut both the Whisper White centre piece and Silver Glimmer paper which adds a narrow border at the top and bottom of the Whisper White piece.  I used the Colorful Seasons stamp set and co-ordinating Seasonal Layers Thinlits which are sold individually or as a bundle (10% off RRP) to stamp or diecut the sentiment, flowers and branch.  Some Rhinestones were added to the flowers a Silver Natural Trim bow completes the card.
