Cutie pie box

Instead of the usual party loot bags, why not use one of these Stampin' Up! Cutie Pie boxes instead.  They can be filled with treats of your choosing.

 

I first die cut the Stampin' Up! Cutie Pie boxes and assembled them ready for stamping.  You can easily decorate these boxes with a colour scheme to suit your party.  I bought some colourful paper straws from the local $2 shop and cut them down to size to fit over the candles cut from either Gold or Silver Glimmer paper.  I used the Sweet Stack stamp set to decorate these boxes with 'filling', 'icing' and a sentiment on top too.  A bow die is also included in the Cutie Pie framelits set and I made these to co-ordinate with each box.

Tip: Juicy inkpads - when less is more!

If you find yourself with a very juicy inkpad that's not necessarily a good thing if you want to get a crisp stamped image.

If your inkpad has too much ink - you may see excessive ink beading or bubbling on the inkpad or the stamp - try this tip.

Using the back of something smooth - I use an old metal teaspoon - gently massage the ink into your inkpad. You can even store you inkpads the other way up and let the ink settle to the bottom of the pad. If needed, you can even use paper towel to soak up the excess ink too.

You'll see in the photo above the bottom stamped line on the box is over saturated and many of the little hearts which should be white have been inked due to the over juicy inkpad. The top line is stamped cleanly after I massaged the ink into the inkpad as per the picture below.

Here's the completed cutie pie box.  I've used a Stampin' Up! Soft Sky and Island Indigo colour scheme.
