Brightly Lit Christmas U Card

One of my favourite stamp & co-ordinating thinlits sets out of the 2017 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalogue is the Brightly Lit bundle.

Instructions for creating the U fold card can be found here and I just made the sides a little narrower on this Christmas card compared to the previous baby U fold card.  It's so easy to adjust the size of this style of card to suit your purposes.

This card started with a Whisper White card base and I layered the gorgeous metallic Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper onto the card base and the 'bridge' section of the card.  The lampposts and embellishments were diecut using Stampin' Up! Silver & Gold Foil and Silver Glimmer paper.  The centre 'U' of the card features the Winter Wonder Textured Impressions Embossing Folder which had snowflakes from the Seasonal Layers thinlit set layered onto it and I added a strip of the Year of Cheer silver washi tape at the top of the snowflake.  The sentiment to complete the card is from the Star of Light stamp set which was heat embossed using Silver embossing powder.

Baby booties gift card holder

The Stampin' Up! Trim Your Stocking Thinlits Dies aren't just for making Christmas Stockings - why not make baby booties and slip a gift card inside for expectant friends.

Stampin' Up! Christmas Stocking by Angela Lovel, Angela's PaperArts

To make the baby bootie, I used the Stampin' Up! Trim Your Stockings Thinlits Dies to create the Blushing Bride card stock stocking and the pillowbox which goes on the back of the stocking.  I then diecut and adhered the contrasting trims using the Bundle of Love Designer Series Paper.  The sentiment is from the Moon Baby stamp set and was diecut using one of the smaller Sweet & Sassy hearts framelits. A piece of Gold Natural Trim was added to the top of the bootie.

Eastern Palace Poinsettia

Here's a quick and easy card Christmas card featuring the versatile everyday Eastern Palace suite along with the Peace This Christmas stamp set.

I started this card with a Stampin' Up! Thick Very Vanilla card base layered with the beautiful Gold Foil Eastern Palace Designer Series Paper.  I then stamped onto another smaller piece of Very Vanilla card stock the pine branches in Always Artichoke ink and Peace sentiment in Early Espresso ink.  The poinsettia was created by using the Eastern Beauty stamp set and diecutting the flower from using the very versatile Eastern Medallions thinlits.  A piece of the Gold Natural Trim was wrapped around the Gold Foil DSP and the poinsettia added on top to complete the card.

Cancer charity donation

October is traditionally breast cancer awareness month and I’d like to do my bit in the fight against cancer.  During October, I will be donating $5 to the Cancer Council Australia for every Ribbon of Courage bundle (stamp set and co-ordinating framelits dies) purchased from me.  Having had friends and family affected by cancer, I’d like to help by raising funds to fight this disease.

 Here’s the bundle:

Here's a card I made for a friend in her favourite colours - you don't have to use traditional colours with this set.  The sentiments can also be used for other occasion cards and scrapbooking too.

I do hope you take advantage of these specials during October by visiting my online store.

You lift me up

This card was made for my husband this Father's Day as he's always showing encouragement and support to our son and I thought the sentiment from the Lift Me Up stamp set was appropriate.

Stampin' Up! You Lift Me Up card by Angela Lovel, Angela's PaperArts

To create this card I started with a Stampin' Up! Night of Navy card base and layered some Soft Sky card stock and Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper on top.

I then took a piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped clouds from the Lift Me Up stamp set in Versamark ink then sponged over the card stock in Soft Sky ink.  The Versamark acted as a resist and you can see the subtle white clouds in the background.  This was then layered onto a piece of Night of Navy card stock and adhered to the card base.  Here's a close up of the Versamark resist technique.

To finish the card I diecut the hot air balloon in Night of Navy card stock using the Up & Away Thinlits dies.  A Dapper Denim baker's twine bow was added to the balloon.  The sentiment is also from the Lift Me Up stamp set and was punched out using the Classic Label punch.
