Happy Valentine's Day

Valentines Day is just around the corner and here's a Valentine's Day card featuring the new Stampin' Up! Stacked With Love Designer Series Paper, Happy Heart embossing folder and Bow Builder Punch.

I used the Happy Hearts embossing folder to emboss the Calypso Coral cardstock and attached it to a Basic Black card base along with some co-ordinating heart paper from the Stacked with Love DSP stack.  I used some co-ordinating black & white paper from the same paper stack to create the bow using the new Bow Builder punch.  It's a quick & easy card to make.

The key products used on this card have been listed below - just click on the picture and it will take you to my online store where the product can be purchased.  From now until 31 March 2015 is a terrific time to place an order as you can receive a free Sale-A-Bration item for every $90 spent (excluding shipping).  Click here to learn more about how to obtain free items during Sale-A-Bration:

Sale-A-Bration Lotus Blossom Stamp

How would you like the stamp set used on this card for free? Sale-A-Bration is well underway and until 31 March for every $90 you spend in my store (excluding shipping) you are eligible to receive a free Sale-A-Bration gift.  Spend $180 on products and you get to choose two free gifts etc.  It's a terrific time of the year to go shopping in my online store and the Stampin' Up! Lotus Blossom stamp set is just one of many of the free gift options available.

The Sale-A-Bration Lotus Blossom stamp is a three step stamp set.  I used Pacific Point for the first two detailed steps and then Tempting Turquoise for the third step. I then used the second Lotus Blossom stamp to create the flower's 'reflection' in the water. The water was created by sponging inks onto the Whisper White cardstock.  Instead of using the stems in the traditional way, I used them to represent the large lotus blossom leaf pads that usually sit on top of the water.  Being 'clear' quality Photopolymer stamps, it's very easy to see through the stamps to line up all the images.  I used one of the Deco labels dies to cut out the label and mount it onto the layered card base.

Something Borrowed Wedding Card

A work colleague is getting this weekend and I made this centre step card for the couple featuring the new Stampin' Up! Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper from the Occasions catalogue.

A tutorial detailing how to make a centre step card can be found here.   This wedding card features the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper with its Whisper White and Sahara Sand colour scheme.  I've used a Hearts Collection framelit to cut out the centre heart which has been stamped with the Everything Eleanor stamp set flourish.  I also used the retired Broadsheet Alphabet for the heat embossed monograms. The Label Card ampersand die was used to join the couple's initials together within the heart.  A good substitute for the retired Broadsheet alphabet stamp is the new Sophisticated Serifs stamp set found on page 44 of the Occasions catalogue.  A couple of itty bitty hearts, leaves, white tulle from my stash and pearls complete this card.
